We use the word good constantly. A good person. A good action. A good life. A good sandwich. Philosophy complicates things quickly.
What are we claiming when we call something good? Is goodness a quality, an outcome, a standard, a relationship to desire, or something else entirely?
We’ll consider approaches from Plato, J.S. Mill, the Dhammapada, and Friedrich Nietzsche.
