Help Us Build This

We need help.

After 13 years of running Philosofarian out of our own pockets, we became an official nonprofit in 2024. That means we can finally grow—offer more programs, reach more people, build something sustainable. But we can't do it alone.

We're looking for people who want to help build something that matters in this community. Some of what we need is straightforward: grant research, podcast editing, retreat planning. Some of it we haven't imagined yet—maybe you want to start a book group, organize a creative collaboration, or bring philosophy into unexpected spaces. If you have skills, time, and a belief that everyone deserves access to philosophical thinking, there's a place for you here.

How You Can Help

We're organizing volunteer opportunities as project-based work—defined projects with clear beginnings, ends, and deliverables. This approach works well for people who want to contribute meaningful work without ongoing weekly commitments.

Have skills or ideas that don't fit these categories? We want to hear from you.

Over the years, we've worked with volunteers on creative projects—slam poetry performances about Hobbes and Foucault, comedy shows, even a philosophy opera parody. We're open to creative projects that bring philosophy into people's lives in new ways.

Tell us what you're good at and what excites you about Philosofarian. We'll figure out together how your talents could help.
