The Arc of Indian Philosophy, Part I

  • The Catalyst 264 West Marine Drive Astoria, Oregon, 97103 United States (map)

This session introduces Vedānta and Mīmāṃsā, traditions deeply concerned with interpreting and elaborating the Vedic inheritance.

We’ll examine how philosophical commentary becomes its own form of inquiry, and how questions about language, ritual, knowledge, authority, and reality emerge from attempts to understand older texts.

This Saturday session repeats Wednesday’s class.
