NATURE, POWER & LANGUAGE
A special Wit & Wisdom x Northcoast Watershed Association conversation
We say nature is worth protecting.
But how do we say why? And is it possible to talk honestly about nature at all?
Calling a forest a resource, a habitat, a wilderness, a home, or something sacred can change what we notice and what we value.
How do we express nature’s value without reducing it to our own uses or assumptions? What can poetry reveal that ordinary description misses? And who gets to decide which ways of talking about nature are taken seriously?
Philosophers Strand Sheldahl-Thomason and Seth Tichenor join poet Logan Garner for one conversation about nature, value, expression, and power.

Presented in collaboration with the North Coast Watersheds Association.
